The Vitamix is engineered from the best materials, it has to be. With a 2 hp motor and blades spinning at 37,000 rpm, the main container has to be strong enough to take the impact of frozen items or not shatter if you accidently drop a spoon into the running blades. As an added plus, the drive is designed to give if something metal is dropped into the container, so the motor is not ruined.

Now I love my Vita blender just for its ability to make smoothies and blending foods, but I have been doing an little reading and found out that the Vitamix actually provides better nutrition as compared to normal chewing and swallowing. All in all, the Vita blender fits all the criteria to be accepted into my kitchen. Now the price can be a show stopper for many, but if you consider how much you regret buying that last tool that didn’t have the capability to do the job, then price isn’t an issue. And with an expected life span of 7 to 25 years, that brings the cost of ownership way down. And if the Vitamix really delivers more nutrition from the same foods, then you can make up the price in money saved from not buying vitamins.
